Hi !
How can i configure Dexpot to keep taskbar-buttons in order when switching desktops ?
On desktop 1 i have them in the order i want.
When switching from another desktop back to desktop 1they are rearranged.
2 buttons which belongs to windows running elevated (as admin) are placed first, as #1 & #2,
even though in my order they are the last 2, #5 & #6.
The rest of the buttons keep the order, it´s just those 2 elevated that are placed before the rest.
I have tested this several times, and usually the buttons are reordered.
But on some switches between desktops my preferred order is kept.
Configure Dexpot to keep taskbar-buttons in order ?

Is Dexpot itself running elevated?

No.

So the elevated applications are always visible on all desktops, unless minimized? It's to be expected then that their buttons will move to the left.
Some windows appearing on all desktops on Vista/7/8

Yes, they are eveywhere....
Why can´t the new desktops be "clean".
I don´t want those elevated windows on all desktops.
The whole idea with multiple desktops, is to have different icons & windows on each of them...

Why can´t the original button-order be restored when swiching back ?
I suggest you change that behaviour so the order is kept.

Yes, thank you, i have read the FAQ....
"A new Windows Vista, 7 and 8 security mechanism prevents user level processes from manipulating windows belonging to processes running with administrator permissions. "
But it doesn´t explain why the button-order isn´t kept.
Who said anything about "manipulating windows" ?
I don´t want to do anything with those 2 windows......
For your information, other multidesktop-programs don´t behave like Dexpot.
Take a look at Desktops from Windows Sysinternals Suite:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb842062
There are no "elevated" windows on all desktops, the new desktops are "clean" in that aspect.
Although the icons from desktop #1 are also on the new desktops, which is a PITA....
But the original button-order on desktop #1 is restored when swiching back.
And this is with Desktops running "normally", not elevated !
So don´t say it´s impossible....

you'll know the Sysinternals tool is a completely different approach to virtual desktops.
Try the option Patrick mentioned. Don't say you're not a hacker!
