I just had a stroke of genius. Many of us use chat programs on other desktops than our main one, and as of now we have no way of knowing if there is an unread message waiting for us if it came while we were away from our computers or not paying attention.
I think a good solution for this (and it could have other use-cases besides chat programs) would be to have Dexpot detect if there is a flashing window on a desktop and make the system tray icon for that desktop flash until you either switch over or the window stops flashing.
Check out the source of WindowsPager (windowspager.sourceforge.net) to see how it accomplishes this. Although, since that program is a pager, the desktop box that has a flashing window flashes in the pager, rather than a system tray icon.
Whether it's using this method or another, I think that we could all use some way for Dexpot to notify us of windows trying to alert us on other desktops.
