Hi,
When using SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and you have a window like Job Activity Monitor, Activity Monitor, or other SSMS windows open in either the foreground or background, then when you switch to a another desktop via keyboard or mouse or via system tray icon and then switch back, then ALL the SSMS windows disappear leaving only the main SSMS application window.
Any help would be grateful.

This is still a problem in 1.5.99 Build 1776 running on Windows 7 Professional x64 SP1.
The disappearing windows don't seem to go into the "Hidden" list, but, well, simply disappear.

The problem will be fixed in the next version.

This is really annoying - glad to hear it will be fixed soon.
It happens with a couple other apps I use as well (Ideara's SQL Check and SQL Profiler come to mind).
One workaround...
Let's say you have SSMS open and opened up the Job Activity window, then switched desktops. Switch back and then hover over the SSMS icon. It should show you previews of the 2 windows, at which time you can either close or maximize the Job Activity window. You *cannot* restore it to its old size/position, but you can at least either close it, or maximize it, do something, then close it.

Hmmm... I just noticed that the previous post saying it will be fixed is quite old. The problem exists for me with the latest version (1.6.4, Build 2186). Any update?

The original problem has been fixed. What you're describing is not the same problem.

My apologies, it sounded like the same issue - windows disappear and will not (easily) reappear. This happens with most SSMS transient windows (Agent Job monitor, Replication Monitor, etc). However, some windows are just closed when switching between desktops (like the "Connect to Server" dialog).
It's not a "killer" problem - just a slightly annoying one.
