How to keep video full screen while switching desktops?

Hey everyone. Is there a way to keep a video/window full screen (say, if I'm streaming a movie online) and then keep it full screen when I switch desktops? I'm trying to stream a movie through chromecast and still use my computer at the same time, but every time I switch desktops, the movie that was playing full screen is exits full screen mode (note: this is when casting a google chrome tab, not when playing something through netflix or one of the apps).

The video used to stay full screen and I could go on using my computer on another virtual desktop, but now once I switch desktops, the movie exits full screen. I'm not sure if I switched a setting manually, or if an update changed this ability, but I cannot figure out how to fix it. Yes, this used to work (in chrome with chromecast), but now it does not.

I'm running windows 8.1 on dexpot 1.6.11 build 2394. I'm using hotkey (Ctrl+arrow key) to switch desktops, but alt+desktop number doesn't work either). Any help would be appreciated!

Is this with multiple monitors and the video running on a monitor excluded from switching (Settings > Switching Desktops > Monitors)?

This is just running on a single monitor.

So you have a video playing full screen, then you switch to another desktop and when you switch back to the desktop with the video, it's no longer full screen? Is that the problem?

Yes, that's the problem. Any idea how to fix this?

Actually, after re-reading your description, the problem appears to be different still. It's probably specific to Chromecast? I don't have one, so I can't test it here. But try enabling the option "Keep all taskbar buttons visible" (Settings > Switching Desktops) and see if that makes a difference.

I don't think the problem is with chromecast, since I wasn't having this problem initially. I also tried to change that setting you recommended and it did not work. I have tried in other browsers too (thinking it may be the browser's problem), and that did not help.

Well, tried it with Chrome 33 and a YouTube video playing full screen and it worked fine. All default Dexpot settings on Windows 8.1.
