System information:
Windows 7 Enterprise, Service Pack 1 64-bit
Dexpot 1.6 portable
MS Lync 2010
I created a rule to copy all Lync windows to all desktops since I absolutely need to see for my job right when I receive an instant message.
The issue is that Lync utilizes lots of hidden/unnamed windows. the message windows start out as hidden/unnamed since the title/name of the window is unknown until the software applies the name of the person being messaged to the window name and title. So, I disabled the option to not apply to rule to hidden/unnamed windows.
2 issues.
1. When Lync starts, i get a lot of hidden windows that will not go away because it seems Dexpot is hanging on to them to copy them across workspaces.
2. If I enable the rule after I start Lync, I can't access any drop down menus (like the settings/tools menu) or right click menus - the just flash and then disappear.
The first issue is of more concern to me, as it requires me to go in an change the rule every time i shutdown and restart to avoid needing to kill Lync through the task manager after startup to resolve the problem.

Re: rule to copy application windows to all desktops oversig

Delete the rule and use "Assign applications" instead to assign Lync to "all desktops". Then restart Lync.

That worked like a charm. Thanks!
