Flicker with custom desktop backgrounds

Hey everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone else experienced this problem. I would love to be able to have a different wallpaper for each desktop, but when I switch between desktops that have two different wallpapers there is always a moment where the previous desktop image flashes abruptly over the current desktop before disappearing again.

This happens with Dexcube both on and off.

My computer should be up to the job, but the Dexpot videos on YouTube don't seem to show this problem when changing desktops.

My setup:
Dell XPS m1530
Core 2 Duo
4 GB RAM
nVidia GeForce 8600m GT
Windows 7 x64

Oh, and this problem occurs with Dexcube with and without Hyperthreading turned on.

Are you using the SevenDex to switch screens???

No, I switch desktops with hotkeys. I don't use SevenDex.

Damn...well that rules out what I experience.

I sometimes experience something similar, but only in extreme cases of High System Resource use by other programs (ie. Multiple open programs, or Photoshop). Virtual Desktop switching will hesitate a little longer than assigned, then I get a quick view of my native Desktop, and then a switch to the chosen Virtual desktop.
For just a moment. I will see the original Desktop Wallpaper.
As though Dexpot was lost for just a moment by windows.

But this does not sound like your issue.
For me I account it to having a really crappy craptop, with onboard Intel Graphics
Now on the Quad Core monster; I never have this issue.

I have the exact same problem. Wish there was a fix for it because I really want different wallpapers on each workspace.

it's very annoying and makes the desktop switching task comfort-less
