Taskbar Vanishes

So yeah I will have dexpot up and running for a bit then start messing around with settings,just changing desktops , doing normal things, and my taskbar disappears out of nowhere and on its own. I do not have any settings on to hide the taskbar on any desktops and I can not get it back from vanishing without exiting the entire program. The only thing I can still see is the Windows start icon, and this is on Windows Vista 32. It is quite frustrating cause if it wasnt for this issue, then I would most likely be 100% satisfied with my saved profile, and dexpot. I have tried reloading the profile I saved, but it still has 3 out of 4 vanished taskbars. Thats another thing, I always find that 1 out of the total 4 workspaces I have running, is not affected by the taskbar vanishing. I hope I can get some sort of workaround or some way of fixing this, cause it is the ONE drawback, everything else is completely awesome!

I'm having a similar issue, but only on Desktop 1 (which is my default desktop) and the desktop icons are also disappearing. This is with version 1.5.2.

This issue with the taskbar vanishing started on build 1.5.1, and I still had issues when I updated to 1.5.2.... I just updated to 1.5.3 so we will see how it goes, and I will report back with the details.

Do you have Dexpot set to start automatically with Windows?

Nope, I do not have it start up during windows boot.

I have the same problem. Lastly not only the taskbar dissappear, but the desktop manager too.
I just have four desktops and my Dexpot version is 1.5.4. build 1212.

Dexpot is a very good tool, but this is a big problem and if I don't get a fix it will make me to stop using.

I have Windows XP Proffessional SP3 version 2002.

The taskbar vanishes when I'm using with some applications like Microsoft Outlook 2003, Mozilla Firefox, VMWare, etc.

Ok, so it only happens with certain applications. Let's stick with Firefox. Now, at what point exactly does the taskbar disappear? When Firefox is started while Dexpot is running? When you first switch desktops after the start of Firefox? Is the taskbar still visible on some desktops? Can you bring it back using the "Hide taskbar" option under "Tools" in "Configure Desktops"? We need as many details as possible.

Seems I have a similar problem so I post here what happen to me
OS: Windows Seven Pro
Dexpot version: 1.5.5 build 1302 with Dexcube and Sevendex activeted

At this time, I don't know if it's appear after a specific action but from time to time, my windows taskbar (which I've configured to be a the up side) disappears, only the start button is style visible and funcionnal.
When I said "disappears", it's mean that if I rick click where it should be, I've have the exactly the same menu if I would right click anywhere on my desktop.
A lot of time, the taskbar disapear on 3 of 4 virtual desktop, so I switch to the one where it's still here, close dexpot, choose to move all opened windows in this desktop and run again Dexpot, and it's ok but sometimes, taskbar is not visible on any of the desktop so the only solution I've found is to reboot my system (have not try close the session, will try next time I've the problem)

also happens here but i thought it was some weird known bug. I fix it by pressing windows+D (reloads the desktop)

im on 1.5.99 beta so i guess thats > than 1.5.6? xP. As i said i used to fix with windows+D keys so never noticed it a lot so i didnt notice the fix.

When i read 1.5.6 i was thinking on 1.6 and i didnt notice thread was from 14/09

In that case it depends on the build number: you need at least build 1323. Do you still have the problem with the latest beta?

I notice this thread is old but I've just downloaded Dexpot, love it, but my Taskbar vanishes when I switch to Desktop 2,3 or 4 from 1 and then sometimes, if I'm lucky, it reappears. Even though I uncheck Hide Taskbar in Taskbar properties, after I switch to another desktop, this checkbox is ticked when I eventually get the taskbar back again.

I'm running on Windows 7 Enterprise.

Any help appreciated as I do want to run your program, it's great.

Go to "Configure Desktops > Tools" and check if "Hide desktop components > Taskbar" is enabled for desktops 2-4.
