Dexpot 1.5, Dexcube not activating on Win7x64

Postby labyrinthian » 11.11.2009 16:37:19

Hi - I cannot get the checkbox to be accepted on Dexcube in Dexpot 1.5 on Windows 7 x 64-bit edition. Neither is Configure available (grayed out).

It does work on my XPsp3x32 installation, but not Win7. Win7 has DirectX 11, not 9 - and even when I also installed the DirectX 9 RTE, the checkbox still wasn't available.

:dex:

Either rename/delete the file dexpot.exe.manifest in the Dexpot program folder, or open Dexcube.ini from the plugin folder and set AdminRequired to 1.

Dexcube works for me on Win7x64, but I have noticed that the Configure button is a little fidgety. Sometimes I have select another plugin, or click outside of the window somewhere, and click Dexcube again for the configure button to become un-grayed.

Ungraying wasn't the problem, getting the window to popup was.

Seems like there are some permissions issues still on this version. I was able to finally to get it to run by first doing "Run as administrator" for Dexpot and then ALSO "Run as administrator" for Dexcube.exe in the plugins directory. (Manually)

Any idea when this might be addressed since really shouldn't have to run as administrator.
