dexpot 1.4 issue - rare marks on the screen

Postby cienmil » 30.04.2007 15:49:24

Extrange marks appear sometimes (and remain fixed) when I'm using switching through hotkeys. I don't know how to remove this marks but they're truly annoying. Only appear in one of the desktops (if the other desk has are always in different position and shape). I can remove them if they're in second desktop (I'm using two) closing desxtop and reopening, but not in primaru

I've attached a capture.

Can anybody help me? I need it, 'cause I love Dexpot manager, but it's difficult to work with this issue.

pd. I feel could be related with firefox (I'm using two or more windows in both desktops).

thanks on advance, good fellows!

I saw this happen once when I accidentally opened the start menu right before switching desktops - even after switching back and closing the start menu, the shadow from it remained "burned in" to all of my desktops. I assume the issue in the screenshot shown happened with tooltips present while switching desktops, though I've not attempted to replicate it myself.

I know I've seen this kinda "shadow-burn" happen before, though I can't remember specifically (I'm thinking YzShadow was bad for it).

One workaround would be to turn off any settings for drawing shadows under menus/etc. I know there's a setting for diaplaying shadows under menus in My Computer properties -> Advanced -> Performance -> Settings. I'm not sure about tooltip shadows...in fact my XP Pro here already isn't showing shadows under tooltips, but it might be worth looking into disabling that if it isn't a big deal to you.

PS - I couldn't immediately find the "similar post just below" mentioned previously, so I'm just replying here.

Well jeez I'm stupid. The "similar post" is now close to the top of the list on this forum, actually, and has more history than this one, including a link to a dev build that may fix this shadows issue.
