Why not use the slideshow functionality built into Windows? Just point the Windows backdrop preferences (Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Personalization) to a folder containing an appropriate number of images, maybe with a different folder for each month.

To use the Windows slideshow feature, you have to disable backdrops in Dexpot. The same slideshow image will be shown on all virtual desktops.

Upgrade to Windows 7... or use a tool like John’s Background Switcher to get the wallpaper slideshow functionality on XP.
