Dexpot Forum

I love Dexpot, but it one thing I don't like. When an application wants attention you can automaticaly let Dexpot swith to it. But I like an extra icon that sais another desktop wants your attention and clicking on it, it wil bring up that desktop.

For example: I work on desktop 1 and on desktop 2 I have Live Messenger.
When someone opens a converstation with me I want to see an message from dexpot that an application on another dekstop wants your attention and when I click it goes to desktop 2.
(I have a rule that Live Messenger and all windows only shows in desktop 2)

Did this get implemented? It would be great if my IM app could let me know someone has spoken on another desktop (and save me from my girlfriends ire when she thinks I am ignoring her!).

Before coming across this thread I was thinking that perhaps Dexport could slide the Desktop Preview into view (assuming it is hidden) and highlight the desktop wanting attention in some way. If necessary, just having Dexpot do something - change the icon colour, pop up a balloon help, anything - would be useful.

The Taskbar Pager plugin has this feature. Look for "Highlight flashing windows" in the plugin's settings.

Thanks for the pointer! At first glance that seemed to be not ideal since it took up all the free space in my tasktray, but then I found I coudl reduce the size of each desktop to 7 pixels so the whole thing is only slightly wider than a normal icon.

I would still like to ask for a less obtrusive (when nothing is happening) scheme, but this will do very nicely in the meantime
