Using Mouse to Switch Desktops

I have been using VirtuaWin for a few years but haven't been totally satisfied with it and started looking around for a good replacement and saw references to your project and so far I like it but there is one thing I wanted to ask about:

I'd like the ability to switch desktops by holding a hot key and bringing the mouse to the edge of the screen. This has always seemed really efficient to me, if I'm using my windows system, I probably have one hand on the mouse, and being able to just hold ctrl and throw my hand to the side to access the next desktop has always been really convenient...

Is there a way to do this? You have a lot of customizability in your software and I guess I could have missed it... (Looking forward to an English version of the user's manual!!!)

Reply?

It's always reassuring when you post a support request on a forum and recieve no reply...

Can I get anything?

Is this a feature that has been implemented and I'm just not seeing it?

Are you planning on implementing it?

I would say you have an excelent piece of software here, but I honestly think you could learn some thing from VirtuaWin (http://sourceforge.net/projects/virtuawin).

And to be frank VirtuaWin sucks, it is unstable, and inconvenient in many ways that you have fixed...

Basically my only complaint as a new user is why shouldn't I use the Microsoft Powertoy for Windows? The reason I stopped using it was for the capability to switch desktops with the mouse and as far as usability goes you have about the same level, you have more features and some cool toys (such as transparency and some utilities to find lost windows) but as far as the actual user experience (getting to the core of the application) it's the same software, I don't think I'm alone on this opinion either...

Hi Em0ry42,

sorry, looks like we missed your post.

That feature you are looking for is already implemented in Dexpot. When you open the Dexpot Settings, go to Hotkeys. There you'll find a tab Mouse switching, where you can activate and configure the feature. :D

The only thing that's not implemented (yet) is that the desktop gets switched only when you keep a key pressed while moving the mouse to the edge of the screen. But we will consider that for a future release :hack:

Hope that helps,
