Windows keep opening on disconnected invisible monitor

Hi,

Thanks for a great software. I am running Dexpot on Windows 8.1.

My setup is a laptop screen (call it Monitor 1) and an external extended monitor (Monitor 2).

I have excluded Monitor 1 from switching. The setting "Only use this setting when multiple monitors are present" is enabled.

Now suppose I have a couple of windows in Desktop 2, and they are placed on Monitor 2.

Now when I disconnect Monitor 2, and I switch to Desktop 2 on Monitor 1, I expect those couple of windows in Desktop 2 (that were earlier placed on Monitor 2 when it was connected) to appear on Monitor 1. Instead they don't appear at all, and when I click on their button in the taskbar, they seem to be minimizing/maximizing to an invisible Monitor (the disconnected Monitor 2).

What can I do so that after disconnecting Monitor 2, the windows that were open in Desktop 2 on Monitor 2 appear on Monitor 1 when it is switched to Desktop 2?

this is handled by Windows or the driver.

Thanks for your response. However, when Dexpot is not running, and I go ahead and disconnect Monitor 2, all of the windows correctly get shifted to Monitor 1 and open there. So it seems that Dexpot is having some role in the windows not shifting to Monitor 1 in the example I have shared above.

If it helps to resolve the issue, in the example that I shared, the couple of windows I have on Desktop 2 are:
1) an Adobe Acrobat window
2) a Chrome browser window.

As I mentioned, when Dexpot is not running and I go ahead and disconnect Monitor 2, both of these correctly shift to Monitor 1.

enable the *.log file, do some switches, disconnect your monitor, then again do some switches. You may provide the file here or send it via email.
