I'm sometimes seeing 10-15 second delays in switching desktops. Cursor action stops. Music playing through Clementine music app stops. Process monitor updates stop. Only plugin enabled is the Taskbar Pager. If right now I mouse over the Taskbar Pager, I see the standard Windows revolving wait cursor (the animated blue ring).

Systems:

Win7 enterprise SP1
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 870 @ 2.93GHz
Installed memory (RAM): 8.00 GB
System Type: 64-bit Operating System
Dexpot 1.6.14 Pro, Build 2439
Licensed.

Currently open applications:

Desktop 1: cygwin terminal (mintty with screen multiplexing terminal running and midnight commander loaded) and Console Emulator (no running app)
Desktop 2: eMClient email app
Desktop 3: Google Chrome
Desktop 4: Firefox
Desktop 5: Sublime Text 3
Desktop 8: Clementine

On all desktops: Skype, Pidgin, gkrellm

Log file is attached which covers a span of time where twice the delay occurred.

please try deleting the application assignment for eM Client.

Sebastian - I've spent part of the day uninstalling a lot of software on this Win7 box. eMClient is gone as are all Apple products, HTC products, an errant Java version, etc. I've reconfigured dexpot to use four desktops. The switching delay remains. Right now I have:
Desktop 1 - cygwin terminal mintty and conemu terminal (I just switched from Desktop 3 where Firefox is running to check Desktop 1 and it was immediate, but the switch back to Desktop 3 took 12 seconds).
Desktop 2 - Thunderbird and Chrome
Desktop 3 - Firefox and SublimeText3
Desktop 4 - Clementine
All desktops - Pidgin

I don't get this. I've been using dexpot for a long time. This is the first time I've seen this kind of behavior.

didn't want you to do so, just delete the application assignments.

Don't see any particular reason for the delay in the *.log file. You may quit applications step-by-step and see if there's a third-party software causing the issue.
Further, you can save your current Dexpot settings into a profile. Load the default profile and see if the problem persists.

I'm sorry to have done more than you asked for (I know how that is, as I've worked in IT for 25+ years LOL).

But ...

I've done the big todo now. It got so bad that switching desktops would sometimes take nearly 30 seconds (I counted to 27 once this morning). I can't live with that. But I'm so wedded to virtual desktops, and Dexpot in particular, that I decided to take the box to bare metal and reinstall Windows7. I'm almost done with that reinstall of OS and apps. SP1 is next then I'm off home for the night. Will finish up patches tomorrow.

So ... nothing further on this thread (I hope) as the box will be completely redone by tomorrow and whatever it was that so seriously affected dexpot will be gone. I can't image what it was. I have an old MacBookPro running Win7 and the same version of dexpot with almost the same apps, and usually in the same virtual windows (habit). Never was the delay on the MBP I was seeing on this Dell Optiplex 980 (admittedly an older box, but still, it's an i7 8-core 8Gb ram box -- there should be no issues at all).

Since this week my Dexpot having delays also.
It is very disturbing after so long time without any problems.

Dexpot 1.6.14 Pro, Build 2439 (Licensed)
Windows 8.1 Enterprise (English)
MS Outlook, MS Skype, Fences

This same daily usage for several months already without Dexpot problems.
Beside desktop switch all other applications are slower too.
For example simple web browser scrolling is slower is Dexpot is running.

I noticed that exiting from Dexpot application is also much more slower than before.
Switching between desktops which are empty (no applications assigned) are a little bit faster.
Anyway Dexpot is slow even it is only running application with 4 empty desktops switching.
Switching is slow by using Full Screen preview or keyboard shortcut.

don't see any specific details in your *.log file regarding slow downs.
Please try disabling 'Settings > Appearance > Add Dexpot entries to the system menus of all windows'. Restart Dexpot.

Still delay of 4-5sec before starting to show Full Screen preview.
But this is general problem, when Dexpot is started all graphics on PC have some kind of delay,
e.g. any simple mouse moving window is refreshing slower than if Dexpot is not running,
or when Full Screen preview is active it is very slow to move some application from one desktop to another.
This is my work computer and I do not use it much or any new SW are installed, maybe just some MS Win update,
possible something about graphic card driver. It worked so good for a long time with same applications.

Some good news here

After updating my graphic card driver all works fine just like before.
It was optional driver update according to MS Win update panel.

For your information please find driver versions before and after update.
This PC is Dell Latitude E7450 laptop.

But it is still funny why this happened because all was fine from 08-04-2016 till this week.
