Hi there

I've just set up a new computer and one of key features of Dexpot isn't working: I'm unable to move documents between desktops by sliding their icons onto the relevant desktop shortcut in Desktop Manager.

I can't find a setting to tweak ... any advice gratefully received.

I'm running Win10, but this wasn't a problem on my last Win10 machine.

are you trying to move icons from the public desktop folder to another desktop? This is currently unsupported in Windows 10.

I have nine desktops, each with their own folder.

Previously, I was able to slide a file from any desktop onto the icon for any other desktop in Desktop Manager, and it would appear on the target desktop.

Now I can't.

are you running Dexpot with admin privileges? Are these icons located in the public desktop folder (as mentioned above)?

I've had the same problem for ages... use to be able to move files and shortcuts on the desktop with a hot key, and now that's no longer.

Seems that if you toggle the "Allow hotkeys without modifiers" OFF moving files and shortcuts from desktop to desktop, via hotkeys, works again!

Sebastian - I'm running as administrator. I don't understand the 'public desktop', but don't think I'm running one.

Kent - interesting; I've never needed to use a hotkey previously.

drag & drop via 'Desktop Manager' doesn't work if Dexpot is running with admin privileges.

You may use 'Settings > Controls > Hotkeys > Move window' (or 'Copy window') to move/copy desktop icons to another desktop. Icons must be selected before you hit the hotkey.

YESSSSS! Unticking 'Run as administrator' and restarting Dexpot did the trick.
