Hi,
Thanks for providing dexpot, I find it very useful!
I noticed the following when switching desktops by moving the mouse to the edge of the screen: When I have two monitors of different sizes set up with one monitor beneath the other, I have to move the mouse to the edge of the larger monitor to switch desktops. That makes sense if dexpot internally treats the two monitors as one large area, but it would be nice if the switch also happened when I move the mouse to the edge of the smaller monitor.
The above issue also happens when I switch off desktop switching for the secondary (larger) monitor. In this case, the active edges should definitely only be those of the monitor on which dexpot is enabled.
There's another minor thing with mouse switching: When dexgrid is enabled, dexpot should switch to the geometrically logical desktop when the mouse switch is used. For example, if I have a 2x2 desktop arrangement, moving the cursor to the lower edge of desktop 1 should switch to destop 3, not 2. It doesn't behave like this currently, but rather treats the bottom and left edges identically (both switch to the next higher desktop number, even if it doesn't make sense geometrically).
Thanks a lot!
Switch by moving mouse to edge of screen -- with 2 monitors
Re: Switch by moving mouse to edge of screen -- with 2 monit
I was also experiencing desktop switching behavior that I couldn't understand at first.
I have two monitors. The larger is on the right, the smaller is on the left. Due to the height of the monitor stands, the screen of the smaller monitor on the left sits about an inch below the monitor on the right. I have this configured in Windows so that the mouse pointer travels logically from one screen to the next.
Now to Dexpot...
I have 8 desktops defined as a single column.

I configured desktop switching to occur when the mouse reached the top or bottom edge of my screen.
When I move the mouse to the top of the right monitor, the desktop switches to the desktop "above" as expected. When I move the mouse to the bottom of the right monitor nothing happens. I checked the settings and it clearly showed that both the top and bottom edges should activate the switch.
Later I stumbled across another piece of the puzzle. I always attempt the mouse switching on the right monitor because that is where I have the desktop preview and it was logical to me. But I accidentally moved my mouse to the bottom of the left monitor and it switched to the desktop "below". So it became clear that the switch is occurring when it reaches the bottom of the lowest monitor. I confirmed this by adjusting the monitor positions in Windows display control panel so that the bottoms of both were aligned. Now switching down works on both monitors, but switching up only works on the right monitor because it is larger.
This is not a critical issue, but it made me think that desktop switching by edge was broken in Dexpot.

Yes, we're aware of the issue.
