It seems that there is an incompatibility between Dexpot 1.6.5 and VMware applications (such as VMware vSphere Client and VMware Workstation). The problem occurs when using VMware to display a virtual machine.

To reproduce in VMware vSphere Client:
1) Open the latest version of VMware vSphere Client (5.1.0)
2) Select a virtual machine and click "Launch Virtual Machine Console" (opens VpxClient.exe)
3) Click anywhere inside this window (to direct keyboard/mouse input to the virtual machine)
4) Suddenly Dexpot switches to a different desktop even though no Dexpot hotkey was pressed and keyboard/mouse input now doesn't reach the virtual machine
5) Moving the mouse inside and outside the Virtual Machine Console window makes Dexpot switch back and forth between desktops

VMware applications should not affect which Dexpot desktop is being viewed.

Do you have the option "Keep all taskbar buttons visible" (Settings > Switching Desktops > Desktop elements) enabled?

No, it is unchecked. I just tried enabling it and the problem still persists.

Keep it disabled. What's the option "Behavior of windows on other desktops" (Settings > Plugins and Extras) set to?

"Copy window to current desktop"

Do you have any application assignments (Main menu > Assign applications)?

Is "Switch to desktop: When activated" set for any of them?

No, all of the ones with an assigned desktop are set to "Never". Ones without an assigned desktop have this option blank.

Weird. Could you run the version attached here, enable the Dexpot log file, reproduce the problem and then send me the log?

All the switches recorded in the log were caused by the "Switch desktop: Previous desktop" hotkey (Settings > Controls > Hotkeys). Does that make any sense to you?

I do have a hot key setup but I did not press that hot key at all.

Try deleting this particular hotkey and check if it affects the problem. What's the key combination?

That's it! The previous desktop key was set to Num Lock and I guess when you switch to a virtual machine then the Num Lock key gets pressed for you! Removing the hot key fixed it. Thanks!

Hi, this might sound newbish but how did you remove the hotkey?

To delete a hotkey, go to Settings > Controls > Hotkeys, select the hotkey from the list and press the Delete button.
