Dexpot Forum

Hello,

I'm having a repeated problem with Winamp. I have the program assigned to Desktop 1 (named Primary). However when the Winamp window is visible, Dexpot will routinely change to my second desktop, labelled Gaming. The program does not move, it stays on Primary desktop, it just switches to the other desktop. However once Winamp is minimized this problem stops.

Any ideas? Mouse switch is turned off, and Dexpot is set to Do nothing when activating a window on another desktop. Dexpot is also set to Run as Administrator.

A log file is attached, I know for a fact the error was produced several times while logging.

Please reproduce the problem again using the attached test version and send me another log.

Sorry, neither of these logs was created with the test version. Make sure it says "Build 2121-purpel" in the "About Dexpot" dialog.

It only says Dexpot 1.6.1, Build 2121. No "purpel" anywhere. I re-downloaded the .exe you posted and tried again with the same results.

The version posted above is definitely correct. Did you download the file to your Dexpot installation folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Dexpot), replacing the original dexpot.exe?

Aha, that was it. I was smart and left it in my Downloads folder.

You appear to have some application assigned to desktop 2 with the option "Switch to desktop when activated" enabled?

Yes, I have a couple of applications set like that.

Well, that's what triggers the switches to desktop 2. I'm not sure how Winamp affects this, but if you want a work-around, disable the "switch when activated" option for those assignments.

Which Winamp version do you use?

I changed those applications to Never, it seems to have fixed the issue. Thanks a lot.

I'm using Winamp v5.63 (x86).
