Desktop Icons Bug

Problem:
- Desktop icons lose their "snap to grid" setting.
- Right-click menu reveals that the setting is still ticked even though the property is non-functional.
- Deactivating and reactivating setting through right-click menu restorers snap-to-grid attribute to icons. But problem returns after restart.

Source:
- Dexpot is confirmed as culprit through process of elimination.
- Possible registry conflict from Dexpot's own internal snap-to-grid settings within application.

Solution:
Dev patch required.

Any ETA to get this bug fixed? I'm running the latest version as of today 1.5.12, Build 1690; and this bug is still around.

I think it's been around for many many months. It was the most obvious bug to me when I started using Dexpot. The only work around I have found is to move 1 icon manually at a time to where you want it. It's a bit of a pain though, if you have 50+ icons on your desktop
Thanks,
Adeptus

the public beta of version 1.6 will offer a different approach to desktop icon customization. It's meant to fix mentioned issues.

How do I get the beta so I can try whether this annoying bug is solved? Dexpot is of no use for me containing this bug...

Just to be clear: it's not a bug. The desktop's Auto-arrange and Align-to-grid options have to be disabled, if you want different icons on each desktop with Dexpot 1.5. Sure, it's inconvenient, but it's a known limitation of the technical approach. It is intended this way and it is documented this way and therefore it's not a bug.
