*Original title of the post was "Customized .gif icons only found in explorer"* !!!!
*I had them confused with .ico's* *I apologize*
As soon as I start Dexpot my desktop icons using customized [/s] .ico icons disappear from all Dexpot desktops, although they still appear in the 'Desktop Windows' >Icons tab. I've tried copying them to all desktops, but no success. When I choose the preview mode in the 'Desktop Windows' interface there are no icons showing off the edges.
I saw the post by cosnet http://dexpot.de/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=2510 but I couldn't find any cohesiveness in descriptions there to understand the thread.
When I open an explorer window they're all visible. I'm on Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit, running: Outlook on the Desk, Stick, and Notesholder on the desktop, gadgets uninstalled.

Re: Customized .gif icons only found in explorer

What's a customized .gif icon?
Re: Customized .gif icons only found in explorer
It's a normal .gif image. I just right-clkd on the folder, choose 'Properties" and used the "Customize" tab. Then I replaced the Microsoft default folder image. I've been using the same .gif's for several big topics on my Desktop to find them faster for about ten years now.
Re: Customized .gif icons only found in explorer
There are "Folder pictures" and "Folder icons" on the "Customize" tab. "Folder icons" doesn't accept .gif files as far as I can tell. Does this mean you're referring to "Folder pictures"?
Re: Customized .gif icons only found in explorer
I used the "Folder Icons" button. However, I have to apologize and reverse the whole premise of this post. They are .ico's NOT .gif's (kicking myself). I guess I'm operating on too little sleep this week.
If I remember correctly the "Folder Pictures" button retains a sort of frame of a Widows folder and adds customization inside the iconish image, which wouldn't be a sufficient work around. I'll try it though, next reboot, and see if that works.
Sorry and thanks.
