"Mouse 4" and "Mouse 5" buttons switch desktops

Whenever the desktop is in focus, if I hit the Mouse 4 or Mouse 5 buttons (ie side buttons on the mouse), it causes the desktop to switch.

I have searched through the settings to try to disable it, but I cannot find where to disable it.

Any help would be appreciated.

At the moment, this feature can only be disabled through the registry (or portable.ini): Exit Dexpot, open the registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Dexpot, find the value SeitentastenWechsel, set it to 0, restart Dexpot.

shiarua,

Just so you know: some of us use those buttons a lot -- to switch back and forth between desktops, web pages, files and directories. I get quite frustrated when I'm on a computer without a 5-button mouse!

I changed the registry setting, but upon restarting Dexpot, it changed the key back to "1".

Strange. Are you sure you closed Dexpot before making the change?

The registry edit worked fine, thanks for that!

However, are there any news on adding a settings option? It's really annoying for some of us who use mouse 4 and 5 for some other important features (I have voice talk on mouse5), and since it's just one registry value, I don't see why there's not just a simple checkbox to disable this in the application's settings.

Regards,
Mahi

I'll add this to the bug tracker.
