Same Taskbar on Every Desktop?

I may have my settings bad (using Windows 7 BTW). I want the same window list in my task bar on every desktop.
Firefox and MSN are pinned icons.
Right now, if I have Firefox or MSN open in Desktop 1... then switch to Desktop 2, in my taskbar it shows MSN and Firefox as not being opened. If I click it, it opens a new MSN... same if I click firefox.
The way I want it to work: Is no matter what desktop MSN or firefox is on, if I click the icon in the taskbar I want it to switch to the desktop that contains the application - not open a new instance of it.
Ideas?
