Dexpot questions and suggestions

1st of all excellent program! Love it on my laptop and can't wait to try it on my desktop to see how it performs with high res 3 display setup! Couple of questions and.or suggestions:

General:

1. Is there anyway to allow moving of Windows w/ drag and drop from virtual display to virtual display in previews (both desktop and full screen)?
2. Have the desktop preview appear in another format (e.g. 2x2) and show live previews instead of icons?
3. Possible to have live previews in other areas (e.g. desktop preview, window key + w switching, sevendex preview)?
4. On alt-tab dexpot shows up, anyway to hide it?

Sevendex:
1. Anyway to make sevendex act as a single icon on the task-bar vs. the stack of icons?
2. Anyway to tweak how often sevendex previews are updated? I guess live preview would fix this but right now when I move a program to another desktop using shortcuts the preview on sevendex does not reflect this until I switch to that desktop!

Ok for some reason I had to turn off force aspect ratio and keep aspect ratio before I could create a 2x2 setup. So how about live previews?

O.k. tried it on the home WS and found afew issues/questions:

1. Is there anyway to save the position of the desktop preview? I have a multi monitor (3 monitor) setup and would like the preview to be on the right hand most monitor. However, anytime dexpot is re-started it brings the preview back to the primary montor.

2. The dexcube effect is only seen on the primary monitor even though the virtual monitor is applied to all three screens:
a. Can it be applied to all the screens? or better yet as one hughe cube spanning all three screens?
b. Is there anyway to limit dexpot just to primary screen (i.e. only have virtual desktops for the priamary screen)?

3. For whatever reason switching screens kills/shuts off the MultiMonMan program. Can be found at http://www.donationcoder.com/Software/S ... ultiMonMan

4. Doesn't play nice w/ WindowBlinds (i.e. using win key + w the dialog that pops up is not skinned properly.


I know I am making a ton of posts but I am really excited about this program! Thanks for any help!

In the Desktop Preview drag and drop should work just fine, for the full-screen preview it's on the to-do list.

As you've already noticed, the Keep aspect ratio option has to be disabled in order to change the layout of the preview. We did some experiments with screenshots in the (non-full-screen) preview once, but is wasn't really useful at such a small scale.

Definitely not in Sevendex (technical reasons), possibly in the Dextab desktop switcher (Win+W), not a priority though.

Apart from the various configuration dialogues, there shouldn't be any Dexpot windows in Alt+Tab. What's the title of the window you're seeing?

I don't think so.

Updating the preview after moving a window might be possible, but it's a lot of work for a small benefit.

Thanks for your reply and please ignore my other post in the other forum.

I see what you mean for the live preview in desktop preview on a lower res monitor but on my side monitors I run at 1200x1600 so the preview is 1100 pixels wide for four screens. Would love to see it on the "low priority maybe would be nice list".

Hmm. So sevendex does not operate using the live preview functions of the task-bar? O.k. would have been nice to be able to click it and see live previews. Oh well.

As for alt-tab it is sevendex which is showing up not dexpot itself.

One more issue: The SevenDex icon does not stay put (i.e. I move it to the front of the taskbar but when I reboot it is created at the end).

Fixed by "pinning to taskbar"
