Program appearing on multiple windows

I am running Dexpot v1.40_472 under Vista Ultimate and have 10 desktops.

Just one single program I use (QuoteTracker) which is a stock program appears on all desktops even though I open it only in Desktop #4. Problem was there even when I was running Win-XP Pro earlier.

I run dozens of programs and this problem occurs ONLY with this particular program.

By the way I love this utility; works great and is so rich in features not to mention stability and compatibility.

I have the same problem.I am running Yahoo widget engine (latest version) and two widgets open in all desktops. The remaining four widgets open in only one desktop as they should. There are no config possibilities in the widgets that can affect this behaviour.Can I tell Dexpot to only open the widgets in one desktop?Apart from this problem - I really love this program!

I´m running XP pro SP2
One of the problematic widgets is Gcal.

may be you can configure a rule which closes the program/widgets on all other desktops than the one you want the program to run.

I configured a rule that says"if Google Calendar.widget is executed, move to desktop 1". I tried to collect all my widgets on desktop 1, because now it seems as ALL widgets appear after SOME TIME on ALL desktops!! Anyway, that rule didn´t work. I wish somebody else could install Yahoo widget engine, download e.g. google calendar widget and give it a try to see if it is repeatable. Any ideas?

Maybe you add a condition which closes the widgets on all other desktops. As Type test executabel or WindowClass.

One observation on the multiple window problem (no solution yet).

The program that is causing me problems is titan poker (which would be nice to hide on a different desktop when the boss comes in but that is another story). I tried setting administrator privileges etc without success. I cant set rules for it easily (at all?) as its window title changes constantly e.g. it is now "Titan Poker: Nickname: baggier | Players: 4970 | Tables: 638 | Tournaments: 169" but will change every second depending on how many players there are etc . If I right click on it and say move to desktop one it obeys, but comes back a second later with a different title.

Is this a generic problem with dexpot if it tries to keep track of windows by using their title?

I looked at quote tracker which was the source of nibiruets problems. It also uses a changing window title e.g. "Default Portfolio - QuoteTracker - (09/21/09 14:50:16 ) (Press F1 for help)" with the time constantly changing. It may be coincidence but could be the source of some problems

Acronis True Image Home appears on more than one desktop.
I move it, it reappears.
Not on all desktops, just on two/four.
Windows 7 64 bit.

I made a rule to more Acronis to Desktop 4, Acronis moves, then comes back.

I have the same problem on a Winodws XP comp. Some of my programs spawn new windows and they show up on the active desktop. Any ideas how to prevent this?

I am using verison 1.5.0 Build 1042.

I have a program called Scottrader.exe which is a stock trading application. This program always appears on all desktops. I have tried modifying the wechsel.ini file to set scottrader.exe=move. I have tried creating rules to move the application to a specific desktop. I have gove into Desktop Windows from the taskbar icon and right clicked on the window and selected the move option. Despite all this the application is always visible on all desktops.

One other possibly releveant thing I have noticed is that when I right click on the title bar of this application the context menu does not show the Dexpot menu options. All my other windows and applications have the Dexpot options in the right click menu.

Any other ideas?

although I couldn't download the software, based on your description, it seems the windows don't allow manipulating their states necessary to be hidden.

In windows 7, it looks like anything I run with administrator privileges appears on all windows. Is this a known bug?

If I run dexpot as administrator, then that fixed issue.
