Is it possible to change / add modifier keys?

I have a ThinkPad laptop, which comes with a nigh-useless blue Fn button in the lower-left corner (yet no Windows key
) - it would be fantastic if said blue button could be used as a Dexpot modifier key, it'd allow many easy to use & remember unique shortcuts. At the moment it's just set to switch back to the last-used desktop, but I'm sure it could be utilised much more effectively.
Is it possible to either change the saved shortcut keys for a given function by editing a settings file or similar to allow me to enter the non-selectable character code (unlikely, but you never know), or if not, could you consider the ability to specify custom modifier keys a feature request?
Regarding feature requests, if each desktop could have it's own virtual clipboard, that'd be amazing too.
