Cross Desktop Notifications

Hi,

I am trying to display notifications that I receive from other applications (such as Thunderbird) across all desktops. These are the notifications that usually pop up on the right hand side above the task bar. Is there a way I can enable this feature through a plugin or otherwise.

Also, I would like to be notified of activity on other applications, such as a new chat in a conversation in the Pidgin application that is highlighted in the task bar. I am aware of the Pager plugin, but find it to be inadequate for me. Is there another solution to this?

What's the problem with Thunderbird notifications? With Thunderbird 24 and default Dexpot settings on Windows 8.1, the notification popups already show up on every desktop for me.

For Pidgin, you could enable the option "Settings > Switching Desktops > Keep all taskbar buttons visible". It's also possible to enable this selectively for Pidgin only, using a mywechsel.ini file like this:
