Windows 8 upgrade from Windows 7

Please can you tell me what will happen to Dexpot desktops if I run the upgrade from Windows 7 (current installation) to Windows 8?
Will the Windows 7 desktop folders work in Windows 8?

the Windows setup should leave the desktop folders untouched.
To make sure you don't loose anything, you could backup the folders 'Desktop (1)/2 to n' here:
