Triple right click menu
Triple right click menu
I now have three 'Dexpot >' menu items in the right click menu when clicking on the title bar of an application. How come?
Re: Triple right click menu

Please exit Dexpot, save the following file to your Dexpot installation folder and see if the problem still occurs with the new version.

Re: Triple right click menu
I have dozens of Dexopt items in the system menu of all my windows; seems like one is added at every switch or the like. This happens since the May 23 release. I didn't [yet] try the version attached to the previous reply.
Multiple Dexpot menu entries on context-sensitive menu
Whenever I switch to another desktop, a new "Dexpot" menu entry appears on the right-click context sensitive menu.

I've tried this build with the same results:

Re: Triple right click menu
It seems that the new build posted in this thread solves the issue. @caldercay: after closing the running Dexpot, I found that all the "Dexpot" entries in the system menu are left there, so you should reboot you OS or close all the running applications. Also, do you have a 64-bit OS? I see that there are 2 exes, one is called dexpot64.exe and we didn't get an update for that one

you don't need to update the dexpot64.exe.

You're right, I should have mentioned that. The build does mostly fix the problem. It does not however remove the excessive menu entries from existing windows. You have to restart any affected applications. We'll have a proper fix out shortly.
By the way, the problem is caused by a bug in Windows (or maybe just an inaccuracy in the API documentation). While we should have caught it in testing, please direct a reasonable amount of blame to Microsoft as well.

A bug in Windows? You're kidding me
Looking forward for the fix ... I find if I bring up the "About" dialog box, things get "reset" (i.e., I dont see the excessive Dexpot entries).
Re: Triple right click menu
The bug is fixed in build 1579, which can be installed using the Dexpot updater.

Installed 1579 and the issue is now worse. Before: one extra menu entry appeared for each desktop switch ... now I'm getting multiple entries for each desktop switch.

Re: Triple right click menu
How did you install the update? Did you restart all applications that already had extra menu entries afterwards?

Installed via the Dexpot updater. App(s) restart "fixed" it.
Odd that I killed Dexpot, then [re]started, but the apps had to be restarted.
