On Desktop 1, I start Word 2007.
I switch to Desktop 2.
I start another instance of Word 2007.
It begins (splash screen) but then gets moved over to Desktop 1.
I have to manually move it back to Desktop 2.
Why?!
I opened it on Desktop 2, so shouldn't it stay on Desktop 2?
I don't have the same problem with Firefox. It works properly.
Thanks.

Re: Why do some programs get sent to the other desktop?
Does the problem still occur if you wait 30 seconds before switching to desktop 2?
Re: Why do some programs get sent to the other desktop?
Thanks. As you suggested, waiting solved the problem.
I have noticed quite a few other inconsistencies of behaviour though, especially with regard to programs in the taskbar tray area:
For instance, double clicking the Outlook 2007 tray icon sometimes switches to the correct desktop, but it mostly just opens in whatever the current desktop is. Media Monkey always just opens in the current desktop. Note that I do have 'Switch to the respective desktop' set.
There are other inconsistencies too. Eg. right-clicking on Word2007 title-bar brings up Dexpot in the context menu, whereas the Dexpot option doesn't display in Firefox.
These aren't big problems, but it means learning and being aware of each individual program's behaviour when switching around the desktops.
Cheers.
