Bind application to specific desktop

Postby oosie » 18.06.2010 17:10:57

How can I bind an application to a specific desktop? I would like to have similar behavior as with the Mac OS X Spaces.

I created a rule as follows:
    Condition: Excutable is iexplore.exe
    Action: Move to desktop 2
    Follow after move

But this doesn't seem to work.

The application doesn't seem to get bound to the desktop intended but is just opened in the current desktop. Evidently the move doesn't happen either of course.

Any help is appreciated.

Regards,
Oosie...

I didn't update IE in the meantime if that's what you mean. I also tried it with other applications, but I can't get the move to work properly.

I didn't notice this earlier for some reason, but all my applications are visible on all desktops as far as I can tell. I am logged in as a user with administrator rights though. I actually only have one user defined in my Windows 7 (64-bit).

Hm. I have quite a lot of this sort of activity going on (game server screen jumping to desktop 4, another program to desktop 5, etc.) with no problem. I think something could be a little odd somewhere.

Also using Windows 7 64-bit with the blended Admin/normal user account, but haven't seen this behavior personally. (not saying you're not, mind you. Just that I haven't.)

One question: Are you allowing Dexpot to run as administrator? That could be a key to things working. (i.e.: if you're not, it mightn't work.)
