I am slowly coming to the conjecture that the source of my problems in using Dexpot stems from too many icons (items) in the desktop directory with the classic view option of the Vista Desktop. When I started using Dexpot all icons could still be shown on the Vista Desktop screen. As times went on the number of icons increased at least 50% but could still be handled by Dexpot's distribution to more desktops. Problems start when the Vista's Windows Explorer crashes and I have the messed up desktop of "icons off screen" phenomena. While I cannot see the missing ones, Dexpot won't allow me to easily make another copy to its desktops by insisting that a copy is there already.
May be I could learn better and follow some general advice from the Dexpot Forum in using "Settings-General/ Profiles (bottom of window)/ Load, Save, Save as..., delete. Choose profile" Any other suggestions and comments, especially on how to retrieving the many "missing-in-action" icons"?
Thanks.

Re: icons off screen
I am having this problem too. Icons are not visible on the desktop, even though Dexpot's "Dexpot Windows" screen says they are there. Re-adding them doesn't help, they are still "off screen". This is really FUCKING annoying ! Yes I have a saved icon profile, but my icon layout has changed since then, and I don't want the old layout. Also, changing the "size of text" on desktop in control panel/display seems to screw up the icon layout as well. They need to get this right. Nothing more annoying then having your icon layout fucked up.

Re: icons off screen
Hi,
I am using Windows XP and when I got the above problem, I simply click
"Show Desktop" icon on the Quick Launch toolbar. Then icons of desktop come alive!
One who missing "Show Desktop" icon can recover it according to the following link:

Hope this is helpful.
