Re: Icon Layout Messed Up
Interesting, you can recreate Explorer crashes to verify this?

Re: Icon Layout Messed Up
Options selected are
- Create a separate folder for each desktop (think I've seen them, right in Windows user 'Desktop' folder?)
- Use original Windows desktop folder as 'Desktop 1'

Re: Icon Layout Messed Up
I'm going to re-ask this question for hopefully a little clarification, because while I've grown to like dexpot extension, this is one issue that drives me crazy. I probably use the tool at its most basic level. I have 4 named desktops, and I've got icons positioned on all them just the way I want t...

Re: Disaster Recovery
Hey, that worked great. Thanks.
Looking at the saved profiles .dxp, seems to me they look a whole lot like the registry contents I saw yesterday, but maybe not. This worked so well, no need to investigate any further.

Re: Disaster Recovery
Thanks - I'll take it out for a test drive.
Noticed a nice big registry section for Dexpot. Wondering if there's much to be gained from exporting that, then reimporting it after a re-install?

Disaster Recovery
Or in this case, reinstall to prior. I'd wrote a script a while back to tar up my profile when I was happy with it, because sometimes Dexpot would get confused, and a one click restore & restart and Dexpot was back to how I liked it. I'd thought it would hold through an uninstall/reinstall. Not....

Re: Backgrounds Disappear
lmao - tried it once before, it didn't work in the interim had restarted dexpot tried it again, now it works. and my backgrounds are flipping properly go figure. something to consider - thinking this may be related to VLC video setting to allow desktop background viewing which I do periodically. i'v...

Re: Backgrounds Disappear
would be nice to attach the image
in configure desktops, desktop 1, it has a file selected in "path", it has a desktop background of gray now, has an alignment of fit, and shows in preview what one would expect it to look like properly.
changing background color works. picture does not.

Backgrounds Disappear
Have 4 desktops, each with an assigned background.
Was working more or less till a couple days ago.
Now, all backgrounds black screen.
When I first enter the desktop at boot, the background flashes temporarily, then is blacked out, then never appears again.

Re: Startup Issue
Got it - issue is I'm actually using this freely available vbscript launched on D4 to start the itunes with a playlist, since apparently itunes doesn't offer such command line options. itunes just winds up on the active desktop in that case, while the script is probably correctly on D4.

Startup Issue
Not sure if there is an etiquette for submitting issues but I'm sure someone will tell me if I'm breaking it. I've searched the forum and read the known issues and haven't found record of same issue. System is Win7, Home Premium SP1. Just installed Dexpot.de a couple days back. I have dexpot set to ...

Is this thing supported?
Just a general question - I've got several issues I've identified since I started using this this morning, and based on the FAQ of known issues and the old dates, well, I'm having doubts if I should waste my time posting to this forum.
