Nice - that seems to have done the trick.
Not a single problem with around 20 attempts. Previously it was almost guaranteed to crash.

Dexcontrol.exe terminates and refuses to run after return from Direct-X full screen - for example: Phoenix RC Sim v4, Trackmania, rFactor. One way I still see windows getting lost is (with all taskbar items visible) to attempt to use the close button in the taskbar thumbnail to kill an application that isn't on the current desktop. With many applications, the button does nothing - VirtualBox springs to mind - however some applications ...

Based on a couple of days of use - so far no. However it was only happening occasionally so it's difficult to state categorically that it isn't going to happen.

Same problem here (occasionally) - Win 7 32bit - persistent taskbar is active. The tricky part with this is that it doesn't happen that often, but for me it's definitely a new 1.6 issue.
