I know this is old thread, I found it searching to solve this problem of having multiple instances of outlook 2013 running on different virtual desktops.

What worked for me was this: http://www.nextofwindows.com/opening-multiple-instances-of-outlook-on-windows/

"Running multiple Outlooks with same profile

To do so, launch every single instance of Outlook without the /recycle switch. The default Outlook shortcut the installation process placed on your start menu has this switch in it, like below:

“C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15\OUTLOOK.EXE” /recycle

Taking out the /recycle will do the trick letting you run multiple Outlooks but with same profile."

Quite unfortunate. I tried using that application, but it doesn't work with Outlook 2013...

:dex:,

running multiple Outlook instances with different profiles is not allowed by default.
This one is worth a try: Outlook Tips: Multiple Outlook Instances

Thank you Patrick for your reply. This seems to fix the problem I have with Visual Studio. However, the problem with Outlook 2013 seems to persist. Is there a way to run multiple instances of Outlook 2013 in Windows 8?

Hmmm... I have set Run as Administrator on my Dexpot, but I can still only run 1 type of profile across all Desktops. I am running Windows 8, 64-bit.

That is, I have Outlook 2013 configured to prompt for Profile on startup, and once I launch Outlook 2013 in one Desktop, I am no longer prompted for a Profile in other Desktops...

Experience with Outlook and Visual Studio 2012 on Windows 8.

Hello Community,

I am exploring Dexpot, and I like what I see. However, I seem to have a problem getting Visual Studio 2012 to instantiate properly between desktops on Windows 8. That is, if I launch Visual Studio 2012 in one desktop, it launches in others. I am curious if this is a known issue, and if there's a workaround.

Also, I have noticed the same issue with Outlook 2013.

Thank you for any assistance,
Michael
