:dex:,

no need to. There are some code-wise reasons against it.

Does this not make sense or does it sound like a bad idea? I can try to explain better if needed.

When switching desktops, show new desktop windows first

Hi,

I noticed that when I have windows on desktop 1, and windows on desktop 2, that when I start on desktop 1 and move to desktop 2, first all of the desktop 1 windows disappear, and then all of the desktop 2 windows appear. If I move from desktop 2 to desktop 1, all of the desktop 2 windows disappear, and then all of the desktop 1 windows appear.

I am wondering if it would be a little more effective to switch this order, so that, when I am on desktop 1 and I switch to desktop 2, first it shows the desktop 2 windows, and once that is done, it hides the desktop 1 windows underneath the desktop 2 windows that just appeared. And if I am on desktop 2, and move to desktop 1, first it makes desktop 1 windows appear over desktop 2 windows, and then it makes desktop 2 windows disappear.

In my mind this is faster.
