Simply open a new Firefox window on each desktop. By clicking on the Firefox button pinned to the taskbar, for example. Clicking on a web link in another application might not work, because it could open in a new tab in an existing window on another desktop (depends on your browser settings).

The key feature I need for virtual desktops is for each desktop to have an independent copy of Firefox--i.e., each desktop's browser instance has different windows and tabs. Thank you.
