Handling Icons on Dexpot's Desktops

Post by cuneiform » 27.09.2013 15:54:54

Although I fell in love with Dexpot at the very first sight, I was unable to configure it properly due to the fact that some 150 apps of mine placed to the physical desktop took up about 1/3 of any virtual screen. To reduce the number of icons up to several standard icons like those of My Documents, My Computer, My Networkplaces, Internet Explorer, Recycle Bin, one would have to move the icons from the Public folder to a UserName folder.

To my mind, the program should do that on its own automatically while controlling the both modes with separate folders and with the common destination folder by searching for proper folders in Windows XP and Seven, backuping the icon folder contents and restoring the Public folder content on exit or upon deinstallation of Dexpot. The end is to make the amount of desktop icons on each desktop of Dexport as negligable as possible.

Supposingly, Dexpot will have such a facility in the next versions of the program.
