Thank you for your speedy reply. I have restarted my computer and it is working fine now.
I had previously tried an earlier version of dexpot a year ago. I had uninstalled that one but the desktops were still there. Maybe that could have been a factor too.
Thanks again. I am so glad it is working. It is a wonderful utility and makes it so much better for organising desktop icons into logical categories.
