I couldn't disable it. I uninstalled it, but when I restarted as prompted, it was still on my system. There is no option to disable it while leaving it installed. I don't think it's causing the problem though. I use a different mouse most of the time, and it is only a minor inconvenience.

try disabling the ELAN touchpad driver tools for the moment.

Thanks for the reply.

Nope, I don't have any other fancy UI programs running. The only program that comes vaguely close to adding buttons to the title bar is Rainmeter. Note: I do have aero running, but I assume you already know that.

Other than that I think the running applications were notepad, PowerPoint, Google Chrome, and Paint.
I still get the funny square with just Chrome running. It goes away when the transparent window looses focus, but it is a little annoying.
I've attached a task list from cmd stating the programs running immediately after I tried it with just Chrome.

Do you have any other tools running in the background? Maybe something that can add additional buttons to the title bars?

Areo rendering with window transparency

I'm really enjoying Dexpot. It's great for helping me get my homework done quickly--when I'm not engrossed in tweaking the settings...

I've got this problem though. When I set a window to transparent, sometimes, when I move it, I get an annoying little shaded square in the title bar:

(I couldn't take a screen shot. It always re-rendered or something, but I could sort of re-create it here.)
As you can see I'm using an Aero theme. In addition, this only happens when window are transparent
