how do you prevent the icon from loading to the taskbar upon startup though?

The Right-click -> Close window worked. Hadn't tried it assuming it would close the application. thanks for the quick response.

you may also disable the systray icon via 'Settings/Appearance/Tray icon/No icon'.

Either right-click the taskbar button and select "Close window" or deactivate the SevenDex plugin in the "Plugins and Extras" section of the Dexpot settings. Is that what you mean?

I like that Dexpot keeps and icon in the system tray and that it can put the desktops on the taskbar, but I can't figure out how to get the application itself off the taskbar. I don't need it taking up space on my taskbar (even with the multiple desktops :) ) Is there an option in the configuration that I just can't see?

I'm looking for something like Winamp where you can have the application in the taskbar, system tray or both.
