Environment variables in the start-up command are not supported, I think. Try this:

Code: Select all

C:\Windows\system32\rundll32.exe C:\Windows\system32\VMCPropertyHandler.dll,LaunchDefaultVM

On #4, I would like WinExplorer to open to my D:\ partition.

Have you tried simply using "D:\" as the command?

3 out of 4= good enough

DT4 now opens with WinExplr opening to D:\. I pasted u'r code for DT3, but WinXP Mode still doesn't open automatically. It really isn't a problem for me to click my taskbar to get it going however.

Thanks for the support.

here's the post that went via PM by mistake:

Hello
Thanks for the reply. Yes, I should have used the Start Up tab. DT 1 & 2 now work correctly by starting a program automatically. I still can't get DT 3 & 4 correct however.

On DT 3, I want to start XPmode. The Start Properties are (all on one line):
%SystemRoot%\system32\rundll32.exe %SystemRoot%\system32\VMCPropertyHandler.dll,LaunchDefaultVM

On #4, I would like WinExplorer to open to my D:\ partition.

If these can't be automatically started, it's not a big deal to start them manually...it would be the icing on the cake (American expression meaning "would be great but not necessary")

:dex:,

you're refering to 'Configure desktops/Start-Up', not 'Desktop Rules'.
Could you please attach here or send me a list of your programs you'd like to start?

trouble with RULES

Post by pmcwillie » 15.07.2011 18:54:02

(Win7 x64, Dexpot 1.5.10 Build 1579)

Hello

Just starting to learn this very helpful program, but I seem to be stuck on making Rules.

I made a rule to start a program (.exe) automatically when I first access DT #2. This works great & the program starts after switching to DT 2.

However, when I make the same rule (RUN) for DT #1 & 3 with different .exe files, the programs don't start. I switch to that DT, but I have to manually start the programs. Also, on DT 4, I want Win Explorer to start automatically, it also fails to start (maybe this is something to do with windows however, eh?)

TIA
