I have the exact same problem. Windows 7 Pro. It is not every time but is quite common (many times throughout the day). When IE9 appears on a different desktop, if I go to its original desktop, i find it minimized. If I click on it twice in the taskbar, it is restored on the original desktop and is removed from the others. This is very annoying.

How reproducible is the problem? Does it happen absolutely every time you open an IE window and switch to another desktop, or is it intermittent?

It happens when IE9 is open on one desktop. When I change to another, IE9 is there too, but only with the close button available on the top bar.

:dex:

When exactly does IE show up on a desktop where it doesn't belong? Is there a specific action which triggers the problem?

There is a problem on my machine confining the IE 9 window to one desktop. It shows up on other desktops but minus the maximise and minimise buttons in the top right corner, so the only option is to close it, which also has the effect of closing it on the original desktop. I have tried assigning it to 'move' or 'hide' (I don't really understand the difference between these two) in the wechsel.ini file, but without success.
