I'm also looking forward to this fix. While switching desktops any open application menu can potentially leave a shadow behind. I can even reproduce it using the windows start menu.

Not sure if it's the same problem exactly but here are the steps anyways:

- click start
- change desktops using hotkey (in my case WinKey + desktop #)

I'm on Windows XP SP2, Dexpot 1.5.3, Build 1178

Thanks for an awesome product btw

Thank you much for the help, I really appreciate such quick support. I'll disable the stickies shadows as well and keep an eye on others. Much thanks for teh great software as well. =)

:dex:,

you're describing the issues we'll fix with the next update. It's not about Zhornsoft's stickies. VirtuaWin cannot handle its shadow either.

I also experience shadows being left behind by various applications when switching desktops. It happens pretty frequently, actually.

Sticky Notes have done it, the start menu has done it somehow, and sometimes I get partial shadows left behind from who knows where.

I run Windows 7 x64 on a Dell XPS m1530 with Core 2 Duo and a GeForce 8600m GT.

I had to switch back to VirtuaWin for the time being to avoid these issue, but I will gladly switch back if they are ever corrected.

we'll offer a small update within the next few days. Unfortunately, it won't fix the issue entirely, as the shadows will reside after stickies has been quit until you switch the desktop or quit Dexpot. Nevertheless, with the next update, stickies can be moved after a desktop switch without leaving a shadow.

You may of course disable the shadow effects via the stickies settings dialogue.

After the app is started, all seems fine until you switch desktops and go back; then moving one of the notes leaves the shadow behind. Closing the sticky app doesn't make them go away, only closing Dexpot makes them go away.

Which sticky note app exactly? Are the shadows gone after switching to another desktop and back?

First noticed it with a sticky notes application that when you'd move a note it would leave behind it's shadow, but then it started showing up with tool tips from Firefox 3.6.3. I've been trying to intentionally make it happen, but I can't seem to figure out what exactly the conditions are that make it happen because it's honestly kind of rare; I had two stuck ones in the span of about 4-5 hours..

Hi, :dex:

does this affect all tooltips or just the ones from a particular application?

Dexpot Version 1.5.3 Build 1178
Vista Business x64 SP2

Getting tooltip shadows stuck on desktops. Tried turning off all the shadow options under "System Performance", no luck.
