Vistual desktop larger than single monitor

Post by arbeleg » 06.07.2009 03:56:00

Hi,

Just trying Dexpot for the first time tonight. Looks great!

Is it possible to create a virtual desktop larger than the maximum resolution of one monitor? I have two monitors, 1680x1050 each, and am trying to work around the fact that Vista (unless XP) doesn't support "horizontal span" -- that is, the ability treat two monitors as one large single 3360x1050 desktop as opposed to two separate desktops of 1680x1050. For example, when maximizing a window, it would fill up both screens, rather than just one. Another example is that the taskbar would stretch across both monitors not just one.

My thought was that if I can Dexpot to create a virtual desktop of size 3360x1050, it might display across both monitors, thus working around Vista's limitation. Is this possible?
