Settings > Plugins and Extras > Behavior of windows on other desktops. Might not work in the case of popup windows though.

Patrick, the "where started" together with switch to desktop "When activated" works ok. Can these settings be set as the defaults for all the apps, so it doesn't have to be set for every single application?

Hence the "where started" option. Did you try it?

Cannot assign Putty to specific desktop, I execute it in multiple instances on multiple desktops... Like many other apps.

:dex:

Try "Assign applications". Assign Putty to "where started" (or a specific desktop) and restart it.

First of all, Dexpot is great! Finally a usable virtual desktop environment!

Now the problem. This is the use case:
-- Putty (ssh terminal) is connected on desktop A
-- Switch to desktop B
-- Network connection goes down
-- Putty popup message with its main window is displayed on the desktop B informing, that the connection was lost

It is quite annoying that the window is moved to the current desktop, I would rather prefer, in the name of higher isolation, to switch to desktop A.

Can this behavior be altered through configuration?

Many thanks for answer and great application!

Hynek
