No idea if it works, but try enabling the option "Keep all taskbar buttons visible" at "Settings > Switching desktops".

I have two desktops on the program and I love playing Sims 3. I play it on desktop 2 but when I switch to desktop 1 I realised that the game minimizes(does not continue). Is there a possible solution for this. I want it to run in the background meanwhile I do something else on desktop 1. Thanks
