“Assign applications” problem…SOLVED!

Post by Dr.Pepper » 18.05.2013 23:35:15

Assign applications” don't work properly. One example is when clicking on a magnet torrent url-link, that makes uTorrent icon also appear on my desktop number one. Another example is comercials on Spotify appear on what ever desktop I am on. I allways have to drag the icon back to it's own desktop. Is everybody else having this issue?

    My desktop setup

  • Desktop 1 = Chrome & TMonitor
  • Desktop 2 = Firefox
  • Desktop 3 = uTorrent
  • Desktop 4 = PLUS500
  • Desktop 5 = Spotify
  • Desktop 6 = Performance Monitor
  • Desktop 7 = Control Panel & windows explorer
  • Desktop 8 = AVG anti virus
  • Desktop 9 = MetaTrader 4

All applications are assigned specifically for these desktops.

edit: problem solved! I searched the forum for some tips & tricks, which I should have done before posting. On the other hand, this thread might help others with same problem.

    uTorrent solution

Create a rule in Dexpot, like so:

    I also had to tick off a box in uTorrent;

    Spotify solution

Create a rule in Dexpot, like so:

Make sure to tick off “Invisible windows”!

Now all applications stays on their designated desktop, finally. I simply love Dexpot, great software!
