Windows 8 Start menu keystroke issue

Post by micaro » 14.12.2012 15:06:32

I'm using Dexpot (my favorite productivity enhancing tool) version 1.6.4, build 2186, which I believe is the latest at the date of this post. On Windows 8 64-bit, I have four monitors and six desktops. Issue...

1. Start menu (a.k.a. Metro screen) can be activated on all desktops. (Obviously, not the issue.)

2. Keystrokes used to search in Start menu usually stop working at some point (often right away) after switching desktops.

3. Other programs and actions in desktop operation continue to work normally. (Good.)

4. I have not been able to find a way to regain use of keystrokes in the Start menu after the first failure, even by closing Dexpot.

5. Rebooting resolves the problem temporarily, until Start menus are accessed on desktops other than the primary one.
