Hey Patrick,

Thanks for getting back to me again. Appreciate it.

Basically im trying to display a dashboard of a couple of sites on a couple of desktops and have them auto rotate, but whatever is on top at the time, is on top on all sites, like you understood. So i guess you're right, probably not the best solution. Are you aware of anything that might do what im after? Is this something that Dexpot might be able to fix/include?

Hope you have a great weekend ahead.

Ok, I get it now.

Dexpot only changes the window order so that the active window is on top after a desktop switch, all other windows remain the same. So when you have windows copied to multiple desktops, it's indeed possible that changing the order on one desktop also affects the order on others.

Not necessarily a viable solution in your case, but maybe you could avoid the copies by creating four separate Firefox windows, two for each desktop?

Hi Patrick,

Thanks for your reply!!

Apologies if i have confused you. I'll simplify my issue for you.

There are 2 web pages opened within firefox. One on each desktop. I was wanting Firefox 1 (for example) to display on Desktop 1, and Firefox 2 to display on desktop 2. However, the only one that displays is the one that is 'on top'.

So on desktop 1, if i have clicked Firefox 1, then it will show, when i switch to desktop 2, Firefox 1 still shows and Firefox 2 is behind Firefox 1, if i click Firefox 2, and then go to Desktop 1, then Firefox 2 shows.

Is this making sense?

Sorry, you've completely lost me here. Didn't you say the top window was supposed to remain the same on all desktops? Why is that a problem now? What does any of it have to do with "overlapping windows"?

Hi guys,

This is a great app however i am having some trouble and im hoping you may help. I'll paint the picture.

I use 3 virtual desktops. 1x laptop monitor and 1x projector as an extended display.

On Desktop 1 and 2, there are 3 windows. 1x window takes up the right hand side of the screen, and the other 2, occupy the left half of the screen in halfs (top half and bottom).

The top left and the right windows remain the same throughout all 3 desktops, so they have been set to display on all.

- The bottom left window is different (well needs to be) on all desktops and with the slideshow plug in is set to display a different bottom left window on each desktop.

However, whenever a desktop is changed, the window that is on top is the one that shows all the time, regardless if i set a rule to Move this window to Desktop 2 for example. (it will move and become the main window and then desktop 1 and 3 will show the same one.

I would truly appreciate help on this.

Thanks in Advance and Happy New Year!
:)
