The align to grid option is per desktop. Switch to desktop 3, right-click on the desktop background and select "View > Align icons to grid". Do the same for desktop 4.

You can use "Configure Desktops > Start-up" together with the all-around useful [url=http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/nircmd.html]NirCmd[/url] tool: add "nircmd.exe mutesysvolume 1" as a command for every entry of desktop 2 and "nircmd.exe mutesysvolume 0" for every exit.

Choose 'Settings' from the main menu. Go to 'Switching Desktops'. In 'Desktop icons', please click the button 'Advanced'. The option 'Align to grid' aligns your icons to a grid, but after a desktop switch.

but there is not such option. help?
